Eligibility: B.A./B.Sc. degree in Mathematics/Physics/Computer Science or similar backgrounds

 

Our graduate programme is another instance of our commitment to promoting mathematics and its applications at the highest levels. We are proud of our relationship with the University of Houston - a world-leader in science, mathematics and technology. The city of Houston itself has a strong scientific and technological base – particularly involving Information Technology, Aerospace, Petrochemicals, and Medical research. The University of Houston is actively engaged in cutting-edge inter-disciplinary research and collaboration in these and other areas.

 

Under this programme, students are first admitted to MSF where they undergo rigourous training for one year. On successful completion of the first year, Houston admission is assured with Full Teaching Assistantships (including Tuition Fee waiver). Second year onwards are at the University of Houston.

Eight batches have already availed of the programme, and 47 students have reached the University of Houston through it.

Next session starts in mid August 2010

You should be motivated, bright and should like mathematics/ physics/ computer science or their applications. We do not expect and do not require you to already be an expert in any of the above when applying.

Admission is on the basis of a test followed by an interview. The test requires a background of basic mathematics. Please write to us at courses.msf@gmail.com for information on dates.

The University of Houston has waived the TOEFL and Subject GRE requirements for our students. The General GRE needs to be cleared with a minimum score of 1100 on the Verbal and Mathematical sections.

Generous financial aid is available for the year of study with MSF on a merit cum means basis. The tuition fees for this year is Rs 40,000 + service tax.
